Day 3:
Woke up at 3:30 a.m. Due to the wind pushing
the blinds back and forth making a tiny noise. Yes, that's how light of a
sleeper I am. It didn't help that it was already light outside this early in
the morning!!!
Fell back asleep 2 hours later and woke up to a
beautiful morning. I found myself with a permanent smile painted on my face. My
cousins house is awesome, and so typical Scandinavian.
We decided after a slow start and picking up
the keys and checking out our house for two weeks to check out the unbelievably
cute village nearby. In Danish they use the word "hyggelig" in rare
occasions so the word isn't overused and still means something special. Their
is no true translation to that word but I know what the word means and so would
you after seeing this "cute and cozy" village. Comes with beach,
harbor, street boutiques and a grocery store open until 22:00! See for
yourself.
We went to the neighboring town after this and
got ourselves a famous what they call old fashioned wafer ice cream (besides
for Perrin). Tristan btw didn't want to join us to any of the fun activities.
He preferred taking advantage of the wifi at our house that finally worked.
The town is called Dronningmølle meaning
queen's windmill. We found the mill but without the paddles. Turns out it's
privately owned (we checked). Then off to some very creamy ice cream. I had
salty licorice (which satisfied my licorice craving but got me feeling sick
halfway in).
But was that enough for one day? I think not!
We went to one of the only working lighthouses in Denmark which happens to be 1
km away from our summer house to check it out. It was amazing! Just amazing!
All I can say is that all of you and Tristan
missed out!!
