Day 18/19

After finding refuge at the former scouted out nature park we found ourselves ready for more adventure to kill the time before heading to my cousin's dinner invite. We did this and that and got rained on a couple times but overall it was a good day. We got settled in at my aunt Esthi's house (my mom's sister who is actually from Switzerland but got settled in Denmark) before visiting with her sons (my cousins). Beautiful little home. The kids had fun (playing video games with his oldest). I had a blast visiting with my cousins of which the oldest I haven't seen in 8 years and his younger brother in like 30 years.

It's no wonder my aunt was stressing a little about our one night stay. She went and got us breakfast and set the table so nicely just for us... Typical Danish hosts. They always go way beyond any expectations.

Then she made all kinds of movements in the dry teaching Riven how to move in the water. She is the funny version of my mom. The water was arctic cold according to Talon and so they were in there only for a few seconds

And so we are off to another part of Denmark passing over a huge bridge connecting the two parts at this point. My kids don't know how to use a real camera... This is as good as it gets.

 Drove by a huge field filled with millions of poppies. I couldn't stop taking pictures. Love poppies!!! This part of Denmark is my dad's territory. He grew up here and still knows some people. So we had arranged to sleep over at some old friend's place. Such an awesome (old now) couple. He was kind enough to show me to the little known stendysser near by that I visited when I was young. Stendysser are the oldest monuments found in Denmark and estimated to be more than 5,000 years old. Some believe that they were grave sites. This one looks small but is much bigger than it looks. How in the world were they able to place these rocks to form a house like monument? And where did the rocks come from?
