After a whole day deep cleaning our summer house avoiding a 1,100 Kroner ($165.28) cleaning fee and stressing about getting out of the house in time and the house key delivered, we decided riding bikes in Kobenhavn would be a little calming. First time in these two weeks I was taking the kids to the Danish Capital. I could feel a little anxiety enter me the second I drove into downtown. Tight turns, busy streets and bicyclers everywhere. Lots of fun things to see so that feeling left me soon again. We were so late arriving in Kobenhavn that finding a free 4 hour parking was lucky, but not impossible. Our budget bikes we rented were funny but did the trick. We passed cars stuck in traffic all the time and were able to cut through one way streets and car free streets. Kobenhavn is hard to navigate even with a navigation though. I had to hold my phone up with google map at all times to actually head the right direction. It was a little frustrating. I lost my navigational confidence that day.
We only had 3 hours on our bikes and so to accidentally run into charming Nyhavn was a plus.
And here are our sleep quarters. We weren't the only ones with the ingenious idea of making this park our night quarters so the Viking house was already taken by another clan. Not worth fighting over so we chose the house with an open view. Our choice made for a real peaceful feeling throughout the night when the rain arrived without the fear of getting wet. It was awesome!
