After a long drive through the night we arrived in Switzerland. For all the Americans who are wishing to drive the German Autobahn because they have heard how glamorous and awesome it is... I say don't. It is very inconvenient with all the street work and traffic jams that causes. In fact, it's very dangerous to drive. Besides that I had to get off the freeway in the middle of the night thus avoiding traffic jams, and actually being on hold still traffic at 2:00 a.m. for an hour, it is also very dangerous to drive. All the hundreds of semis drive slow that you have to pass them unless you want to spend the next 20 hours instead of 12 on the freeway. That's when you have to look way ahead (or behind) to make sure no one is approaching with a sooping 130 mph in the passing lane. Also, I was never sure how fast I really could go and with the constant street work which forces you to go in the passing lane (if you want to pass slow semis) leaves you only a couple inches on the left concrete wall or the right side occupied with a semi truck partially in your tiny lane because they have no room in their lane themselves. I think I developed a permanent cramp in my hands still in the form of gripping the steering wheel so tight. I'm still recuperating from that night...
Thus I haven't hardly been anywhere with the kids yet and haven't taken pictures. I hope I can count the days I missed or the whole 81 days is off. I'm basically taking a break from our break...
