Day 49

Today we got the kids their Danish passports. They are officially American and Danish citizen.

We wanted to visit København one more time since we really didn't have much time last time on our bikes. København is a very interesting town and deserves more than one day visit. So this time, instead of making the kids exercise their legs on bikes, we let them rest in a boat. Perrin was so relaxed he fell asleep halfway through our 1 hour expedition. I thought it was very interesting and informative. There was no way I would want to pass out. Not even for a minute. I was very fascinated by the girl giving us a history lesson in Danish as well as English (but relieved to find that no one needed it in German as well) did it in perfect accents.

So here are a bunch of pictures. I don't remember everything said though. Feel free to look it up if you are really interested in something.

This was the house the famous Danish fairytale writer Hans Christian Anderson lived in

The last past used Danish subway

And here she is... The little mermaid. So little I had to enlarge the picture. I think the impersonation two nights ago was much better

And here is the Amalienborg. Home to the Danish royal family. The flag was not up meaning they were currently not present. The part with the 5 chimneys is for the queen herself. Supposedly she smokes a lot and needed one more chimney compared to the 4 on all the other quarters.

And so we return to our before tight parking spot, to our now completely boxed in van. Nah, I still got it out without issues. I call it an 8 point turn.
